PHP not working from browser

hi,
lately i installed PHP on linux with apache as web server. its working fine from command line .. the same when i try from browser its showing up code ... how to fix this?

go over the install directions again. you need to set AddType for php in httpd.conf

But what if I already checked that? I'm having the same problem. I have the AddType in the conf file, but when I try to browse to a PHP file in IE, it starts a download wizard.

How can I ensure the php module is being loaded in apache? I see "httpd -l" lists compiled-in modules, but I see no option to list dynamically loaded modules. I want to check this first (though I'm sure it's there).

What else can be the problem if not AddType?

Put:

AddModule mod_php4.c

After the "ClearModuleList" in the httpd.conf file.

Don't ask...
