rpm build error: cannot find -lstdc++

I am trying to compile a Redhat rpm.

All I have changed in the SPEC file is without mysql to with mysql.

however, when I do a rpm -ba I eventually get an error
"/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lstdc++"

I have
libstdc++3-3.0.1-3
libstdc++-3.1-0.21
libstdc++-2.96-98

installed on my system. Should I have only one of them.

Any ideas?

You need each of these RPM packages installed on your machine. Do a search on 'libstdc++3-3.0.1-3', 'libstdc++-3.1-0.21' and 'libstdc++-2.96-98' at RPMFIND.NET

If you have the space, usually a good idea to install the header/dev packages too...
