PHP Apache error 500 on alias dirs

I'd appreciate it if somebody could help me with this.

I'm running Win2k Pro with Apache 1.3 and PHP 4.11.

PHP files run fine so long as they are physically under the htdocs root folder for the Apache web.

But any PHP files run from an alias directory result in a Internal Server Error 500.

I've temporarily set permissions for the entire drive to Everybody - Full Control (inherited) to see if it was a permissions problem, but the same thing happens.

Any ideas?

Sorry, I should have included the following info:

Error log:
[Wed Mar 20 14:42:45 2002] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] Premature end of script headers: c:/php/php.exe

Also, the PHP and Apache binaries are on a different drive to the Apache web root and the alias dirs - in case this makes a difference.
