Same problem here. My 7.2 install installed both PHP 4 and MySQL, but not to work together. Figure that one out! Reinstalling PHP required options in mysql to be changed, which has put me on this merry chase. Now, I cannot get past the same error you are having, and there is no documentation, or explanation on the web that says what to do; just that the file is missing, which we already know.
