installton of linux 7.0

hi i have been trying to install redhat linux into my computer i have two harddrives(20gb each) one is for windows in the other one i have made 75% extended dos partition and left the rest as it is to install linux.. but no matter how many times i try (on the first cd itself) it goes upto where it says that it is reading packages(417) and midway it just stops i mean the comp does not freeze the mouse works and the keyboard responds but it just stays there the harddrive and the cd rom just stop once it went all the way through all the packages and then it did this on the post installing procedure please help me out i am in india and there not much help i can get from any technician on linux here

i don't know redhat linux i used mandrake linux before but i went to the redhat website and found a good link for you i assume you are trying to get a "dual boot" system for "windows" and "linux" right ? well for this to work properly you have todo some configurations dual boot is just that your computer has more then one operating system you should read the redhad documentation at http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/linux/RHL-7.2-Manual/install-guide/
