Unable to connect php with oracle 8i.

I am using oracle 8.1.6+php 4.0.6+apache 1.3.20+linux6.2 .

I am unable to configure php with oracle.
I have tried about 10 times but i always get the same error.

Warning: _oci_open_server: Error while trying to retrieve text for error ORA-12546 in /www/htdocs/first.php on line 2

ORA-12546 means "TNS permission denied".

I have checked that my Listener is up and running . My database is running .
Then why this error is coming.

TNS permission refers to the system admin that oracle uses to authenticate users. You need to set ORacle up so that the connection you are planning to use is accepted by the DB...
