installing 4.2.1

Hi! I need some help here.
I'm using PHP4.1.2 / win2000 / IIS / Global Off
I'm having problems with sessions (href SID doesn't work) and I understand that the problems is the version I'm using. I thought maybe PHP4.2.1 will solve the question.
1) Is it true?

I downloaded PHP4.2.1 from www.php.net, although my book Beginning PHP4 (Wrox Press) recommends (2001) that the reader uses the website http://php4win.de, wich doesn't work.
PHP 4.2.1 zip package [5,217Kb] - 14 May 2002
2) Why do they recommend this other website? Is this still valid?

I'm trying to migrate from 4.1.2 to 4.2.1. The first problem is that I can't overwrite the file php4ts.dll (windows refuses since this file is in use). I tried to turn off MySQL and all other programs in use, and still couldn't overwrite php4ts.dll.
3) PLEASE!!!! HELP ME TO MIGRATE!!!! Can you please explain step to step how to do this?

You should turned off your IIS. Then try it again.

I used to have a SESSION problem using PHP 4.1.x. Now, I have no problem with PHP 4.2.1. It works find with PHP 4.2.1.
