Error using PHP_GD.dll

Hi List,
Im using Apache/1.3.12 , PHP/4.2.0 on Win98.
Ive copied php_gd.dll to c:\php\extensions & c:\windows\system.
Whenever i start Apache WS i get the following error message.

PHP Warning: Unable to load dynamic library 'c:/php/extensions/php_gd.dll' - A
device attached to the system is not functioning.
in Unknown on line 0

Can any one help me out.Thanks in advance.

hi,

php.ini

extension_dir = c:\php\extensions

dynamic extensions(modules)

extension = php_gd.dll

that doesn't need to be in windows system directory

Hi,

i also faced similar problem with PHP 4.2.1 on Apache 1.3. i gave the correct path in the same case as extension_dir value and it worked fine for me. you can try the same.
