Need put everyhting in the /usr/local?

Hi,
I have a simple question for you guys. Do I need to downlaod into /usr/local/ or anywhere? If I don't have permission to put in /usr/local/, where can I put it?
Please help me, It is pretty urgent!

Hey,

I assume you are the same guy who was asking about solaris running apache, php and mysql? Or was is oracle?

Anyways did you find out how to install apache+php to work together?

If it is good idea to install them into /usr/local but you do NOT have to do this.
