Using PHP Files to Configure Database?

Hi,

Shoot me down please if I'm wrong - but isn't it possible to configure a MySQL database with a php script?

I have the mysql dump file from a database i've already created using phpMyAdmin, but the server i'm working with at the moment doesn't have this and I need to put up the database onto it.

If you can do it via a php script, I'd be very much obliged if somebody could tell me how.
