MySQL under php..

I had a browse down the forum but didnt find the answer...

Running MySQL 3.23.5 (installed fine from RPM and is running)

Running PHP 4.2.1 compiled WITH MySQL (confirmed in phpinfo())

Running Apache 1.3.2 compiled with PHP..

One prob wont run MySQL extensions in PHP. error: "Cannot load MySQL Extensions, check PHP configuration"..

Ive compiled with MySQL and recompiled to be sure but it still doesnt recognise MySQL in PHP... phpinfo confirms --with-mysql but doesnt show any MySQL information further down the info..

Any ideas? thanks in advance..

THis is under RedHat 7.3
