These docs are unhelpful at the most... insulting really.

They say you can install PHP as a commandline utility, yet fail to say anywhere HOW to go about doing it.

They claim "by default php is install as a cgi module"... bull... default configure and install makes it into a libphp4.so for me! That aint an executable unix app!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....

I don't know about Windows but with UNIX/Linux you need to compile PHP with the --enable-cli option then copy the binary file "php" from the sapi/ directory in your source location to /usr/local/bin or somewhere else in the path.
