I am running RedHat 7.2 and want to know how to install MySQL. Also, can I use Cold Fusion as the application server instead of php? Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

Cold fusion when you can use PHP??? Are you crazy ;-)
The simplist way is to download the package with the package manager (rpm)
Otherwise you'll need to get the source and build via the instructions that come with.
Cold Fusion should work on Linux. Just have to buy the distribution from Macromedia for Linux. We use CF at work on NT servers. I love it, but am expanding my experiance beyond that. Plan to learn PHP, and ASP as well.
