how to upgrade php-4.2.1 to 4.2.2

Hai,
I am trying to upgrade php 4.2.1 to 4.2.2 using the patch posted in php.net. it has no instructions. i had to save the patch at .gz file. If any body has an idea what to do, pls post it. by the way i work on red hat 7.2
