php 4.2.1 on W2K unable to load php_gd.

I have installed PHP 4.2.1 using east installer package. The test script (test.php) starts however while processing the PHP section throws a series of errors stating it is unable to load a series of dynamic libraries: eg:

Unable to load dynamic library 'C:\inetpub\scripts\php\extensions\php_gd.dll" - The specified procedure could not be found'

The file is in the specified folder.

any clues / help.
