Wow, but I thought one of the big advantages of Microsoft software was that they provided all the support you could ever want (or was it afford? hmmm) in one convenient location...
Also, I thought only us Linux types had to go and edit text files by hand. Oh, yeah, the registry was an improvement over text files, since you can only edit it on a healthy enough of a machine to get the GUI up and running.
I still remember way back when I was tech support for a couple hundred Winders boxen, and how much I hated microsoft for the abomination of a database that the registry is. I could at least live with it if it was a real relational database that I could say, "select * from reg where application like '%excel';"...
