How do I clean my laser lens?

Many cd stores stock a cd lens cleaner. It's pretty much a special cd which a liquid is placed on the surface, and it cleans the lens of the laser.

It this really the place to discuss something as meaningless as cleaning the lense of your cdrom player?

I can only imagine two instances where you might consider cleaning such a delicate piece of hardware:

1) you have a pcmcia drive and you have been fingering the lense to see if you can get your prints on it.

2) you are an intense smoker who smokes 5 packets of the heaviest caliber a day and exhales into the cdrom drive all day.

And in both cases I'd recommend letting someone experienced clean it for you.
