Crash Win2000 + Apache1.3.12 + PHP 4.0.3

Hi!

Every time we open an php page with Netscape 4.7, php crashes.
But IExplorer 5.5 works slow, but works!

Our correct Configuration:

Windows 2000 (SP 1)
Apache 1.3.12
PHP 4.0.3
phplib 7.2b
local Oracle 8.17 DB

We tried also to enable the php-logfile, but it seems to crash before it is able to write any message!

Has anybody any idea?

Are you using any form fields? I had a php page that would crash in netscape 4.7 every time that i opened it. I had put styles in the text fields and such (changing the border of the text boxes and background color) Hope this helps you

but this seems not to be the problem, because our PHP-Page is quite simple and the crashing process isnt't Netscape but the PHP.exe process.

We believe that the reason could be that Windows 2000 and ServicePack 1 together with PHP 4.0.3 doesn't work properly together.

The PHP connects also to by SQL to an Oracle database 8.1.7.

Any help are welcome

Ah, Win2000 Service Pack One might be contributing to your problem... I installed SP1 on our graphic designers computer, and his computer started crashing 3-5 times a day. I uninstalled it, but that all continued so i had to format the HD and re-install. Try getting rid of SP1 and see if it helps.

I have already tried out that solution without success.

But I believe that it could related to the SP 1 of windows2000.

Ah, I know what the problem is... You're trying to use Windows as a server ;-)

Don't get me wrong, WIN2K PRO is a wonderful OS, it's on all our machines here, and I never have to reboot. Our servers are hosted by Verio and are running FreeBSD.

If you can, try using Linux or another Unix based OS as a server, they are much much more stable and more secure. Other than that, i've run out of ideas as to what could be wrong.
