MySQL Not Starting on Win2k

MySQL has been working fine on my Win2000 box until today when I rebooted. I get "Warning: MySQL Connection Failed: Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061) in statistics.php on line 3
Unable to connect to database." errors within my pages and mysql isn't in the task manager like it should be. I goto services to start it, hit start and get the following erorr message:

Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly.

What could be wrong?

try re-installing mysql. something may have got corrupted their

Make sure that your datafolder is correctly specified in the my.ini file. If that is correct check if the mysql database is in that directory. If you have changed the data folder but have not moved the mysql database then it won't work.
