I downloaded easyphp 1.1.1 , a while back. This installs php/mysql/apache very simply and up till now has been working (or so I thought). It seems that there is an error somewhere and I cant seem to find it.

None of the commands with strings are working ...as in ..\n.. \t.. etc, none work. heredoc doesn't work either.
When I discovered this I re-installed PHP4, but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

What do you mean by "\n" doesn't work?

if heredoc doesn't work, it should give you an error. what's the error?

You can install php4, but you probably need to compile it into apache. Read the php manual.

Well I just talked to some other people and it seems that this problem is occurring for other people too, all of which are using NT.

It does give an error for the heredoc, but as for the others it just ignores it. eg.

echo "hello \n World";

will print out "hello World" rather than
"hello
World"....

I am guessing that this is a problem with php in NT and I'm sure other people have come accross it and fixed it. If you have, please let me know what to do. I presuem its something in the configuration files. But what?

You are aware that \n never works inside HTML unless you are using it between <pre></pre> tags?
as for the heredoc, what exactly is the error?

Now I'm really hot and bothered. Call me stupid, but I didnt know that, I'm very new to this web stuff and am not fully up to date. and as for the heredoc command...I took the time to check it againg and the exact same command that was giving me a 'parse' error yesterday is working today. And believe me I have not altered it.
I'm truly sorry for wasting your time, and thanks for your help.
