Error: "An ActiveX control on this page"

Can anyone tell me what causes the error
"An ActiveX control on this page might be unsafe to interact with other parts of the page" and how to diable this error message

I'm getting same message. Happened after I installed ZoneAlarm, removed it but still get this error message. Anyone know the fix? it is extremely annoying.

It was a virus called Happytime. Not lethal, but had to delete all .ht files.

To get rid of this message you need to
implement IObjectSafety interface to
that activex control...

The details of how to implement this
is in MSDN...

please do a search for 'signing and marking
activex controls'... there should be 2 articles on this topic...
on each article do a search for 'IObjectSafety'... there are 3 ways
of implementing it... i chose the
last method... 🙂

I think my problem is more peculiar.It goes like this ......
I am trying to instantiate Scripting.FileSystemObject but i am getting an error as "an activex control on this page might be unsafe to interact with other parts of the page" one way to get rid of this problem is by changing the registry but i dont want to do this....i have also enabled all options for all the security zones....dtill the same problem.... In what other way can i say my explorer, not to prompt me this message... can i do this .... if yes how?

if the ActiveX control is yours then
you've got to implement
IObjectSafety interface to get rid of
that annoying error message.

if the ActiveX control isn't yours then
you could get in touch with the vender to
do that for you

i am almost 100% sure the error is caused by
non supported IObjectSafety interface 🙂

I was getting a similar error message, "This page provides potentially unsafe information to an ActiveX control. Your current security settings prohibit running controls in this manner. As a result, this page may not display properly."

got around this (not going to claim "solved" here) by changing the IE security options:

tools
internet options
security
custom level
under security settings
init & script ActiveX controls not
marked as safe, set to enable
run ActiveX controls & plugins, set to
enable

had the same problem with a piece of software i needed to run...

here's two fixes..
one quick registry fix that worked for me...
and one for developers.

I had the same error. After reading all the solutions here I still could not fix it. Then by playing around I fixed it. Here's how, hope it helps for you all.

Open My Computer
Tools
Web View and choose....
Use Windows Classic Folders

This shut off that Active X Control error for me.
