send image by mail

hi
i have a problem to send an image by mail....
At destination mail i can get only blank mail...here is the code below.....pls guide me where the problem.....and how can i send an image by mail....

$imgfile="san1.jpg";
$fp=fopen($imgfile, "r");
$rtn=fread($fp, filesize($imgfile));
fclose($fp);
$rtn_mail=mail("[e-mail]","Image mail","$rtn","From:[e-mail]\nContent-Type: image/jpg");
if($rtn_mail==true)
{
print "<p align=center>Mail sent sucessful in Image</p>";
}

you're trying to send an 8bit binary data file through a 7bit email system as raw data. you'll need to encode the image using mime encoding.
