script in .htm file does not work

hi all,

i'm pulling my hair out here: i've set up php4 on win98 using pws as the server.
all works fine unless the script is inside a file with a .htm extension - the scripts work ok if i change the extension to .php but as soon as it's a .htm or .html file they don't get executed.

any ideas?

your server isn't congured to parse .htm files as php (best kept this way!), you are probably aware that html can be written into a script by either echo ""; or to break out of php:
<?
if ($trtr){ ...

<?
echo "more php";
?>

I assume it's best kept this way because of speed issues?

ok then - but how do force pws to parse .htm files if i really need to (say on an existing and heavily linked to file)

That would be in the apache (I assume your using apache) config file. I can't help you with the settings as I don't know myself.
It is possible I know that much 🙂
