Is there such a thing as a GPL pdflib preferably for windows? I'm finding some possibilities for *nix systems on freshmeat but so far no luck for a MS solution.

any help or finger pointing in the right direction would be much appreciated.

BUT THERE IS STILL A POSSIBILITY ALTHOUGH IT WILL TAKE LONG.. THERE IS SOURCE CODE FOR PDFLIB.. THE PROBLEM IS COMPILING IT.. I TRIED C++ BUILDER BUT I GOT ERRORS FLYING EVERY BUILDING OF THE SOURCE CODE...

HOW ABOUT IF YOU TRY IT...

But note that pdflib is NOT open source, it is source available, but not free or open in the classic sense of the word.

That said, it is a mature, well thought out product, and at $500 for a commercial license (and then only if you SELL pdfs with it, i.e. if you provide docs in pdf as a support function with no charge it's still free) it's hard to beat.

But I switched from NT to Linux 2 years ago because of the dearth of good programs like this under windows.

OH! I must read more carefully. I wanted to use PDFs to show a preview of a printed postcard they were ordering. I'll go back and read more carefully. thank you.
