cron under windows

i am running apache 1.3.20, php 4.06, mysql 3.23.23 unbder win98

i want to run cron jobs, anyone know any programs that run web scripts under windows ????

Check out Cygwin( www.cygwin.com). It allows run unix command on Windows.
I think it should run.

upgrade to windows 2000 professional and then there is a program called

crons (cron service)

that runs EXACTLLY like unix CRON.

If its a windows app that needs to be run at certain times, or is a script that can be run with the Windows Scripting Host, and you can't upgrade to Win2K, try using the Task Scheduler. In win 98, I believe it is located in the My Computer folder under Scheduled Tasks.

If not there, try the Control Panel > Scheduled Tasks.

that only allows for DAILY or less often executions... most websites want cron jobs running every 5 minutes, or hourly... much less than one day.

It is NOT true that you can run tasks under windows only daily or less often.

if you set the task, you with:
right-mouseclick > propeties, tab Scheduled, button advanced....adjust the task.

Startdate, EndDate, Repeat task (every 5 minutes 😉 ), etc.

P.S. I'm still no fan of the windows schedular...i've to restart my computer much to often...
