CGI or DLL?

[W2K Advanced server with IIS]
I installed the 4.0.6 version and hoped it should work, but it didnt. I once installed v4.0.4 I think and that's the only version I got working with the DLL file. v4.0.5 didnt work with it and now 4.0.6 doesnt either. CGI version does work. When using dll version every scripts give me an error 500.
Anyone could explain why (well, or where to look)?
I dont know why, but I've got a preference for a dll file instead of an exe file. Mostly because if I programmed something bad, the CGI version usually gives back "CGI error - The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers. The headers it did return are:" and thats it, nothing is returned actually, and this should have been a 404 error msg.

I know the dll version is not stable enough, but I cant seem to get it run at all anymore.

Problem is that the ISAPI DLL doesn't appear to be stable (as you've seen). Would love for Zend to set this as a high priority since WinNT/Win2K is one of the major web serving platforms. I would recommend using the CGI EXE (IIS caches the EXE which is small in size, so the performance penalty is not bad).
