You have three options when considering running ASP Scripts with Apache.
- ASP/Mod Perl
- ChiliSoft ASP - www.chilisoft.com
- Halcyonsoft Instant ASP - www.halcyonsoft.com
The first option is null because this requires you to write your asp in perl and would be rediculous for your situation. The remaining options are propriatery solutions from private companies. Basically that means that they are very, very expensive (just under $1000 US). These programs let you run ASP under UNIX, but its not open source and you have to pay. Nevertheless, they both offer trials and are worth trying out. Depending on what your looking at, they may end up saving you money compared to running IIS on Win 2k server. Anyway, while both work, i personally recommend Instat ASP. It runs much faster and has greater support for more obscure Asp components. I could go into detail but you can find all the relevant information you need at http://www.halcyonsoft.com/products/iasp.asp While this may seem jaded considering is on Instant ASP's website, believe every word. There not lying. Well, I wish you the best in porting ASP to Apache. Its quite a bit more difficult than IIS, but will run much faster. Good luck!
