php + apache + gd

G'day I am having real troubles trying to install php_gd.dll

I am using apache and the newest php version for Windows. PHP was initially working fine. Then I downloaded php_gd.dll off swing and put it into C:\php4\

I uncommented the reference to it in php.ini and I set the extension dir to: C:/php4

When I run a script at the DOS prompt it says: "Unable to load dynamic libray 'C:/php4/php_gd.dll' - one of the library files needed to run this application cannot be found".

Can anyone tell me if I need other dlls, and what I am doing wrong?

I have the exact same problem.
I saw that GD was not supported in PHP4 on Apache??????

you must remove ";" before "extension=php_gd.dll
" in php.ini
;extension=php_filepro.dll
extension=php_gd.dll
;extension=php_gettext.dll
