files on win nt network

I am trying to access a file on another machine on a WinNT network. The file is shared, and accessing it in a C program is as easy as typing "\machine\file". However, it doesnt work with PHP3.
Is there a solution to either transfer the file or open it in my PHP script ?

Two things:

1. In your <FORM> tag, you MUST have:

   INPUT TYPE="file"
   
   ENCTYPE="multipart/form-data"

Don't leave out the quotes!

2. In your php.ini file:

   magic_quotes_gpc = Off

upload_tmp_dir = C:\temp
