Hi,
i am using Microsoft Windows XP Professional version and I can't run MySQL in either ways.
At the beggining I had MySQL from the phpdev package and like I couldn't run MySQL I decided to download it on www.mysql.com, so I download it, but I still can't make it work.
The first time I installed it it was ok, I runed winmysqladimn.exe and configured everything and made it available every time I started windows but I realized that it wasn't working. The I disable it no the startup and tryed to start winmysqladimn.exe when I wanted to use MySQL, after that I went into the menu on the systemtray, selected Win NT >> Start the Service but that still not working, sometimes when I do this I see the traffic light icon going green but in 1 second it goes back to red.
What I don't understand is why at the first time it worked fine I have used PHP with it and I could connect to the database and I could do whatever I wanted, phpmyadmin was working, but now nothing is working I can't work with and I really need to make this working. I have tryed to uninstall and the re-install it but it didn't workout, can someone help me on this.
Is it because of Win XP? Isn't compatible with it?
What can I do, I have an important site to mantain and need to make some PHP scripts and test them in my computer before I put them on the site please help me.
