Help with mail() using SMTP on IIS 5.0

I have a problem when trying to use the function mail().

I am running a win2k profesional server and I wonder if it is possible to use mail() with just IIS 5.
Do I need some flashy program like exchange 2000 to get it to send mail?

I thought that IIS 5 on windows 2k professional could do Web Ftp and Mail but so far I have only got Web and Ftp to work.

I suppose this is more of an IIS 5 setup question than a php question but I still hope someone can help me!
