CHMOD() problems!

I keep getting an error saying that I don't have enough permissions to change the CHMOD. 🙁

You don't have to chmod anything on windows. Atleadst I don't believe you do. CHMOD is for unix platforms.

Hence my Q, you cannot chmod under windows, thus it will fail.

CHMOD is a UNIX command. But how do we assign permissions and user to the dir that we create thru php ?

You do not need to assign permissions in windows. You should be able to do what it is you need to do without changing permissions. If you need more help, please specify what it is you are exactly trying to do.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for reply.I am not trying to do it for Windows , but i want to implement it on Linux.I run a code in php which creates a directory inside a directory called as clients. Permissions for Clients are 777 (I have assigned them manually).Now i want to assign a user and permissions and a user to the dir which is created by my code.
By default the user being assigned to thsi dir is "Apache".
I hope its clear to u now.Can u shed some light on this ?

So, you don't want to CHMOD, you want to CHOWN. Only root can CHOWN.
