DSHELLGENERICHOOK.dll

I need a hand. I've been getting DSHELLGENERICHOOK.dll has not been found errors on startup, runnig WinME. For the life of me, I cannot figure out what is causing this. After perusingthe archives here, I found others with a similar error due to viruses of Kazaa, but I am virus-free, and I uninstalled Kazaa ages ago. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out what is causing this error.

Any ideas¿

I recently deleted Imesh and it's ad garbage,
Gator and another ad program, and am getting
the same error.
Something must have been left behind,
(a spiteful calling card? no pun intended) that's calling on this missing dll.
Coincidentally the computer's been "locking
up".
No reply yet from Gator. Any ideas out there?

Just used Babelfish on Alberto Tracconaglia's
solution. It works. I changed createsw.exe
and driverpg.exe to .old and the error
message is gone.

needles?

I have been fighting this same problem for about a week. I also went through some problems with imesh recently. Do I understand that all I have to do is rename createsw.exe and driverpg.exe to .old files and all is OK? Where should I expect to find these files? Hello i would also like to how to change from .exe to .old. I found the files but I can't access them. Any help wil be greatly appreciated.

Angel,
Just navigate to C:/Windows/System
and scroll down until you see driverpg.exe
and createsw.exe.
Don't bother changing the file extension
to old. They were the culprits, I'm sure
of it now. So just highlight them and delete
them.

Here is the complete fix for this problem:

the main problem is the spyware: cd_load.exe and the ftp_back.exe client that are also installed on your system. also it integrates itself with the startup of the whole system causing itself to activate itself whenever you activate your computer system. if you try to disable that in the options box - surprise! - it keeps on self-activating. and why? - because of 5 files now embedded in your system directory: istabm.exe, bm_insta.exe, attnvg.exe, createsw.exe and driverpg.exe which cause these problems and themselves are programmed in the registry to run every startup. this will probably cause your system to tell you that it "can't find dshellgenerichook.dll" which it thinks it's required. how to repair all this: uninstall imesh, delete afterwards the leftovers (described above) and also clean up the registry via the registry editor finding everything connected to imesh and deleting.

I do not have the problem of the dshellgenerichook.dll message... but my computer hangs up very often, more than is comfortable to work. When I exit the system, it tells me that it DriverProgram is not responding (driverpg.exe). And when working, the programs freeze up... windows keeps running fine, but the programs dont work anymore. do I need to delete all the exe's that you mentioned in your message? (7 in total, including cd_load and ftp_back) or just the five that you mentioned last? (driverpg, createsw, etc etc) what about hprna.exe? is it fault of Imesh also?

Don't bother changing extensions, you can safely delete these files, but there are more
hidden files that need deleting.Search through this thread and somewhere, someone has a list of them.

Upon start-up I have been getting this message...DRIVERPG caused an invalid page fault in
module DRIVERPG.EXE at 018f:00404264.

It only started after I got rid of a "trogan" virus...Any ideas?
