win2000, & PHP , does it work??

One thing that I could not find on the PHP website, is a simple list of OS platforms that PHP can run on.

Q. Does PHP4 run on windows 2000 server?

if so how do i download?

p.s. why does the install look so difficult?

PHP4 runs on Win2000 pro so I would be very surprised if it didn't run on server. The installation is very easy compared to PHP3 as PHP4 uses an ISAPI - filter. Go to http://www.php.net/downloads.php and download PHP 4.0.2 under Win32 Binaries and save it on your harddrive. Unzip it and read the README.txt.

Be VERY careful.....the latest version of php4 has a bug in it that MAY do damage to IIS5!!!!!!!

I would suggest using the first version until it is sorted out. THe first version should work fine.

I am about to format my second drive because of this problem.

John, the install is easy! I have my system setup running Windows 2000, Apache, MySQL, PHP 4.
