Hello:
Recently my computer was logging onto a Novell netware server and we change to a LAN and installed the Client for Microsoft Networks. I am running windows ME. We removed all of the old netware novell server and tried to install the new card. Once installed I am getting a logon box prompting for a username, password and domain name before configuring the card.
I was under the impression this box should not appear when loading a new client and I should be able to choose a new username and password. The box will not let me logon and is saying it cannot validate my username. It is also putting in an old username when I know it should be blank.
I know the check box for logon to NT domain is unchecked. I have deleted the .pwl file as well but the same box is still coming up. So far no one knows how to completely erase all traces of usernames and passwords without getting into the registry or just reloading the entire operating system which I hope to avoid.
Microsoft support online doesn't not show a listing for this specific error message. You can't hit escape or cancel to get into windows. You cannot access the operating system at all. Nothing works.
Anyone else ever have this problem or know how to fix it?
Thanks for reading this post.
