Windows - Apache

I visited the Apache.org to download.
I think so not so easy.
Well,
How can I install apache in my PC (what version you recomend).
And others informations please...

I use PWS (Personal web server) but doesn´t work good.
www.bla.com?variable=1
When I run the bla.php the variable doesn´t exist.

I can try apache.

The PWS work good in other my PC but in this, not!

Download the latest version of Apache, currantly 1.3.23 [http://www.apache.org/dist/httpd/binaries/win32/]. If you are running win2000, download the file ending with msi (apache_1.3.23-win32-x86-no_src.msi). Ones you have it on your harddrive, rightclick on the file and choose install. Then you follow the instructions of the installer.

Note! If you want to use MySQL, Apache and PHP you should install them in that order (MySQL, Apache and PHP).

I'm using Apache 2.0 beta on windows and haven't had any problem with it. I suggest you download it instead of 1.3 if you are on win2k.

? Charles - have you had any luck with Apache2 and php4 as a module ? cos I can only get it going as a CGI ???

Installed MySQL - OK (mysql-3.23.47-win.zip)
Installed Apache - OK (apache_1.3.22-win32-x86.exe)

When I installed PWS I tested in my brownser like this http://localhost/mysite/
How can I test Apache ?
(I want config for localhost)
