Guru question - asp + php

I'm using asp and migrating to PHP. Is it possible to have 2 script engines running on the same page eg and main.asp file with a submain.php as an include  ??

Tried it but it does not interperet. Suerly IIS would treat an included PHP file by processing it (not) !

IF it works then it would be wicked as I can convert bits at a time over to php ;-)))

that's because you use the file include, which is for including files, not URLs.

Surely ASP has a function for including URL's and not just files?

A forum, a FAQ, email notification, what else do you need?

I'm not much of a guru - But I was able to use ASP and PHP on the same IIS server, but I had to stop because the PHP engine took over the MSSQL connection and didn't give it back to the ASP parser when I did PHP inserts or updates, but not on selects (??). That made the whole rest of the site really angry, and I haven't found any good advice on that.

Personally - just my opinion (possibly others too) - for the hassle and overhead your CPU will have doing this, it really is better to just pick a lane, if y'know what I mean. PHP I find is usually faster than ASP, and requires far fewer lines of code to do a great deal more functionality.

Just my thought anyway. The second I read your question I was like... Why on earth would that be the only solution?

PHP can talk to any db you can name. Piece of cake to get data talking to new scripts.
