fopen+NT4+Win2000

I'm trying to access a file with fopen and fread. The file is on an other server on the LAN wich is a Windows 2000 server. The php server is a windows NT 4 with php4.0.6.
I get an error : permission denied.
all the files are accessible from all the machines with the explorer and an IMG tag with src=l:\images\image.jpg is allright.
Only php cant read them.
I MUST use something like
<img src="phpscrip.php?params">
where phpscript.php uses fopen fread and getimagesize functions....

Has anybody a solution??

I have found that W2K is very funny when it comes to permissions on files to NT boxes. Things you'd expect to work don't and visa versa. Try opening the permissions to everybody full control temporarily and see if it works. Then gradually tighten up until you get to the point where it is secure to everyone except the server (or whatever you require).

BTW are you NT domain or Active Dir??
