mod_auth_mysql and windows

hi guys,
i have trouble installing "mod_auth_mysql-2.20.tar" in windows. here is my platform:
-windows 2000 professional
-php
-MySQL
-Apache

Can anyone direct me to a detailed installation instruction, please?

I tried this module in windows but it crashed a lot. Finally I chosed use the http headers and inserts my functions for validating users in MySQL.

I'm in the same problem and I refered to the link Markus pointed out. I use Apache 1.3.24, mysql 3.23.39, php 4.2.0 combo under WinXP Pro. I used www.systransoft.com site for French to English translation. I followed the direction for installing ApacheModuleAuthMysql.dll and tried to configure httpd file, but Apache could not start. Removing "Secret Auth_MySQL_Info localhost root" enabled Apach to start. What's wrong? And would I still able to use this module without this Secret Auth... line? Thanks for your info.

Yes, I can still use the module without "Secret Auth_MySQL_Info localhost root" line, locally. Whether I can use it on net is still uncertain as I am learning how to use php, mysql, and apache....
