Hi,
I am trying to protect a folder on my server, running on Apache for Windows 2000 Pro. What I did is I put a \".htaccess\" on that folder. Everything looked fine, but when I clicked on the link of that folder, it popped up a window asking for user name and password. I enter exactly what I put it on the \".htpasswd\", but it said that \"You don\'t have permission to open this folder\". However, when I sticked a html file, for example, test.html, into that folder and made a link to that. It worked just fine. I wonder is there anyone who could help me with this situation? I really want to prevent from other people downloading some files such as mp3, software, and so on. It looks like \".htaccess\" works fine with protecting html file only. It cannot protect the whole folder. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
