PHP and Microsoft Outlook

Hi, I am doing an Enterprise Resource Planning system for my
college.

I would like to know how to link the PHP with the Outlook so that
I can send lots of emails of students at one time.

The answer is.... you don't! Why would you ever want to? PHP has it's own mailing function so it doesn't need Outlook for that. You could prolly figure out a way to parse Outlook Addressbook's, but if you're going to do that you're better off to simply export the addressbook to a text file and then import the info to a db for better storage/access. Moral of the story is.... Outlook/Exchange bad!!🙂

But, i'm working on php in my company and the corporate mail client is Outlook.
Then I must find a solution with php and Outlook/Echange. That's the law of work.
So I'm interrested too if anyone find a solution to his problem.

But what should PHP be used for? From where will you get email adresses.. why not use the builting mail() functions in PHP?

Excuse my ignorance but i realy don't see the need of connecting PHP with Outlook

IF the source of the email adresses is a database somewhere on the web its most likely you should stick to only PHP. If the adress list is a static textfile... you should import it into Outlook.

Forgive our strange counter questions but the question itself is kinda strange
