STUPID STUPID problem

Does anyone have any idea why session registered variables, or variables that have been passed as arguments to a function keep changing their value to "Resource Id#1"???

I'm completely baffled and its driving me insane. I have $SESSION["nextkey"] which has a value of say, 39. I create a new variable say $nextkey = $SESSION["nextkey"] and pass the variable $nextkey to a couple of functions which return queries containing the value of $nextkey but do nothing to either $nextkey or $SESSION["nextkey"].

Anyway, the next time I try to reference $nextkey the value comes up as "Resource Id#1" and please please please if anyone knows why.... I'd love to know!

I REALLY would like to know the answer, because I'm suffering from the same since two weeks and it is a pain ...

Session variables keep corrupting to "resource id#2" or so (value returned as string : "2").
For instance, if my php script is in a frame, I have corruption, if not then it's more rare...
That's why I was on the verge of checking bug status for PHP 4.0.0.16 and Apache 1.3.12, considering to upgrade if necessary ;-)
