Session question?

Hi guys

Got a problem with the Sessions.

I have my php.ini file setup with the following....

session.gc_probability = 100
session.gc_maxlifetime = 1440

So I figure that my sessions should have a lifespan of 24mins before they are seen as garbage and deleted, but thats not happening?

Evrytime someone access the website, the previous session is simply overwritten, so there is allways only one session, in my tmp folder??

Anyone know what I,m doing wrong, or have I misunderstood something?

P.S. I'm not using cookies, but PHPSESSID in the url, or should I be using both???? hmmmmmmmm did I just answer my own question?

I don't use PHP_SESSID. Insted, use

session_save_path("temp") //Or other dir
session_start();

Now, that will create a unique session ID on the folder temp. It works for me, and never gave me any trouble.

Don't forget to include theses two lines on any PHP script you want it to share the same session data. I usually start the session after the authentication.
