Hi!
I've got a really annoying problem with my IIS installation. This is again and again happening around 1 week after I reinstall windows xp from scratch.
IIS not serving any accesses anymore (connection times out).
Rebooting does not help (inetinfo.exe hangs as soon as it's loaded again)
I cannot kill the process with the task manager (nothing happens, not even a message box)
Using Kill.exe from the NT Resource Kit reports that the process was killed, but it isn't.
Using the process viewer from MS Visual Studio 6.0 results in the message that "the process could not be terminated"
If I try to debug the process (MS Visual Studio.net; can debug system services), the debugger simply doesn't launch.
The IIS control panel doesn't open anymore either.
When I try to uninstall the entire IIS package, the uninstaller begins and then just stops.
Since I've got that VIA mainboard my computer randomly reboots sometimes, maybe something broke ?
I could also zonealarm having to do something with it. I think it could have happened whenever I reinstalled zonealarm.
Any ideas ?
Thx,
-Markus-
