PHP pages not responding on Browser

I am usgin the PWS + PHP + MySql. The Created Php Pages are not responding in the Brwoser. Give me the sequence of the setting.

ie http://localhost/myTest.php

where myTest.php is the name of your script.

I also have a similar problem. I have installed php4.2.1 with apache2.0.39 under windows xp. I get the http 404 not found message. I went as far as configuring the windows registory. php -i shows that php is installed. I am not sure wether apache invokes php. Can anyone please help?
