Anyone seen this one??

I am running php on Win2K advanced server and have buit an application that allows a user to select an image and send it to a friend using the mail( ) function. The problem I have is this: The application works fine if the email address that is being sent the attachment is the same as the site name of the site (ie site name is mysite.com, email addresses like [e-mail] or [e-mail])but if the email address is different than the site name - the application fails and nothing gets sent.

Anyone seen this one before? I know the SMTP is valid and listed properly in the ini file because it sends the mail out.

Check your SMTP server. It may not be allowing relay to other hosts. I've had this prob on qmail a while ago :-).

But by default, I believe relay is turned on for local hosts in the SMTP bundled with win2k server (and also iMail from ipSwitch -- if you're using that).
