Php/sql offline

My question is the following: is there a way to use and alter an sql database using php, offline, without installing anything (i.e. the software for sql and php) on your computer, and if so, how? specifically i'm wondering if it can be run off of a cd provided the cd has that software installed on it

I would say no, PHP and SQL would need to be installed on the system or else your computer would not know what to do with those file types. There may be a way to do it with a disk image, but you would not be able to write to a finalized CD anyway, so your database would have to reside on a writable drive.

Get foxserv, it's an allinclusive package that's easy to install and you can run things locally and later export them via PHPMyAdmin and upload them to a server.
