You have one registered domain (gotsocial.co.uk), but there can be multiple hosts at that domain doing different things, each identified by a different host name (gotsocial.co.uk, www.gotsocial.co.uk, etc.gotsocial.uk…). Or to look at it another way, you've got a domain registered with Nominet UK, which identifies gotsocial.co.uk with your server, and your server subdivides the domain further by putting part of it under a www subdomain.

Weedpacket oh I get it, it threw me a little when I was logging in with mobile everything worked but on laptop it didn't, I fixed it but still made me jump at the time

Today I learnt (think I learnt) it's harder to fix someone else code and get it to work properly rather than write it from scratch

There's a whole lot of "it depends" with that. Sometimes it might be true. Other times, you find out the reason the old code is such a complicated mess is that the thing being solved for is very complicated; and then you spend 5 times as much as time as you budgeted for while figuring out how to get it all to work in your new version and finding fixing all the bugs you introduced while doing so. (Voice of experience here 😉 )
